Artist Bio
Steve grew up in Newport Beach, California. As far back as he can remember, he has loved to draw. He says, “Drawing makes me happy. The perfect day for me during my youth, was to sit at my desk, play my favorite record, and draw. And to be honest, that is still my perfect day!” Steve is a graphic designer and artist with over 25 years of experience specializing in creative direction, brand management, and illustration. He has been an adjunct faculty member at BYU and is currently an adjunct faculty member at UVU in the Art Department. When Steve is not designing or teaching, chances are good you’ll catch him playing the piano, listening to music or enjoying time with his family.
Remember
Acrylic and ink on panel, 2019
My wife and I had been discussing how it’s fairly easy to be home. We’ve made it nice here and decorated it just the way we want it - and it has plenty of art, action figures, and music. We also like the people who live here. We’ve tried our best to make our home a sanctuary. But out there in the world is a whole different thing. We have little control about what goes on out there. So we sat down and made a little list of things we can do when we leave our home and go into the world. They are simple little things - but they definitely make a difference. Now if only we can remember to do these things.

Where Do I Go From Here?

Where do I go from here?
I actually ask this question a lot more than I ever thought I would. By the time I reached my 50s I was sure everything would be perfectly laid out before me and I would just have to walk the easy path to its end. Nope. Not even close.
Yes, at this point in my life I know who I am, what I stand for, and have determined my values — but I am still surprised at how often my life takes twists and turns I certainly never intended or planned for. This journey through life is not an easy one and often forces us to grow in ways we never expected. But it’s all part of the deal. And on we go.
So where do I go from here? I really don’t know. But I certainly look forward to the journey.
