Venus and Muninn
Conte crayon on mounted watercolor paper, 2019
Venus is the morning star and God of Love. She stands in the world full of turbulence, but her beauty comes through. The God Odin in Norse mythology has two ravens, Huginn and Muninn. Muninn visits the God of Love and brings to her the gift of Memory and Mind, to remind us all of the beauty and love in the world.
Ripped
Oil on maple board, 2020
Two young women stand together communicating to the rest of the world, but not to each other. Each wearing ripped jeans. A sign of individual expression, with no two pairs the same. A fashion statement of the times. Note to Students: The composition of the painting is based on triangles.
